Obituary:
Josephine Huddleston Roper,"Mu",age 102, departed this life January 13, 2011 at the Northside Nursing Facility. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Betty Salvage Huddleston and the wife of the late Rufus Roper. She was preceded in death by two children, Rufus, Jr. and James Clayton Roper. A member of the Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church, she sang in the choir used her excellent culinary skills for fellowship meals and served as a Mother of the church. She was faithful until her health prevented her attendance. She was educated in the public schools of Rutherford County.

Affectionately known to this community as “Mu”, she lovingly adopted everyone she met into her circle of friends and loved ones. Her tender, gentle spirit attracted people of all ages. She led such a blessed life surrounded with so much family. It was almost a competition to see who could spoil her the most. She has left her footprint on this earth and extremely big shoes to fill.

She is survived by children; Ida B. Frazier, Annie Belle Young and Luther Roper, all of Murfreesboro, TN.; grandchildren, William Roper, Washington, D.C.; Johnny Roper, Rochelle Malone, Eddie Frazier, Kenneth Roper, David Roper, Ricky Roper, Sharron and Karen Roper, Anthony Young and Henry Knox; dauthers-in-law, Erma Roper and Helen Roper; devoted niece, Annie Mary Vaughn; devoted nephew, Robert James of Denver,Co; 28 great grandchildren, 19 great, great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, church family and the Black family.
