He transitioned from this earthly on March 29, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. William was educated in the Rutherford County School System. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Roosevelt Evans. Before his passing, he had become a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. William's interests included spending time with his grandchildren, who he loved dearly. He was a man of many hobbies. He loved working on cars, cutting trees, painting and whatever else he could help you with. He loved to cook and eat pinto beans and cornbread. He could make the best homemade banana cake with caramel icing, just like his mother Minnie Cantrell. William was preceded in death by his sisters, Willie Mae Patterson, Mary "Sis" and Rosie "Sweetpea" Cantrell; and brother, Johnnie "B" Cantrell. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of thirty-one years, Brenda Cantrell; daughter, Edna (Terrance) Parker; sons, William (Sheneka) Cantrell, Shon Elder, Michael (Jessica) Cantrell and Robert "Apollo" Cantrell, all of Murfreesboro and William Massey of Nashville; stepsons, Averill (Ida) Malone of Upperboro, Maryland, Jerome Malone, Ronnie Malone and Elliott "Jed" Dumas of Murfreesboro; brothers, Victory (Evenlyn), Oliver (Patricia), Eugene and Jimmy D. Cantrell; sisters, Gloria Jean and Edna Cantrell; devoted friends, Donn (Takila) Pendergrass, John Collier, Steven Clark, Tikey Clark, Sarah Clark and Clicky Clark. He will be sadly missed by many of his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. |
