Carlota Edwina Bingham Freeman was born on October 8, 1960 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to Dorothy Pearl Bingham Lambert and Warren E. Logan Sr. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, Tennessee. Carla was educated in the Rutherford County School System. She received her High School Diploma from Oakland High School.

She was one of the founding members of the KAPPA ROSES, which was one of the branches formed from the KAPPA ALPHA PSI Fraternity. During this time, she represented the month of January on the calendar. She worked for the Whirlpool Corporation for 13 years until her untimely incident, which resulted in-her resignation from the company.

She professed her belief and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ under the leadership of Pastor Richard W. Sibert at the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Constantly living in fear, this was a place where she felt safe and comfortable. She was not ashamed or afraid to express the love she had for Jesus Christ.

She was an extremely outgoing, happy, silly, witty, loving, funny and kind person before the incident, which scarred her earthly life, but praises be to GOD, she was a believer in Christ Jesus, where she found comfort. She had a smile that would light up the room, and people loved to be around her. She had to be the center of attention and loved every minute of it. She loved to shop, travel, taking pictures, going to the beauty shop, and spoiling her daughter Tarica to the end, and constantly bragging about her granddaughter, Zariyah's, basketball skills. Her love for them was her strength to keep moving on. They were the topic of many conversations. Her love, laughter and friendship will be cherished and forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Pearl Lambert and Warren Logan Sr.; grandparents, Amable Grignon and George Colewood, Clara and James Logan Sr.

She leaves to cherish the love and memories for whom she loved dearly: former spouse and best friend, Jimmy Freeman; daughter, Tarica Freeman of Murfreesboro; grandchild, Zariyah Murray of Murfreesboro; sisters, Shirley Bingham, Selma (Reginald) Patterson, AngelaArd of Murfreesboro, Robin Brandon of New York, NY and Yena Logan of Ladson, SC; brothers, Richard (Janice) Bingham of Landover, Maryland, Rodrick (Portia) Bingham of Baltimore, Maryland, Steve Bingham and Warren Logan of Murfreesboro and Kenya Logan of Ladson, SC; nieces, Amable (Jimmy) Woods, Sherrie Cowan, Yakeista Dunston, Amber Lawrence, Wyneka Logan, Rebekah Bingham and Reyna Bingham; nephews, Ricky (Kenya) Bingham, Freedom (Cicelly) Bingham, Todd Johnson, Fredrick Ard, DeAngelo Ard, DeMarcus Johnson and Gabriel Bingham; great and devoted friends who were there in her time of need and comfort, Naomi Burrus and Kim Kelly Wheeler, thank you for being there, Jimmy and Antoine. You all have performed well, taking care of her life was difficult towards the end, but you were there. You gave her the love she needed until the end. She loved you beyond eternity. She will also be sadly missed by many of her great nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
