Dorathea, whose name is pronounced (Dor-ra-they) made her heavenly transition from this life on December 26,2020. Dorathea also called Dora, Dot, Granny or Aunt Do Do was born on September 23rd, 1934 in Murfreesboro, TN to the union of Tom & Roseanna Wade. Dorathea left Tennessee as a teenager and relocated to Toledo, OH in 1951. She resided there until her passing.

She eventually married Murfreesboro native, Charlie B. Smith enjoying a long-lasting marriage until his passing. Together they have 3 children. Dorathea loved the Lord and confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church under the late Pastor G.J. Johnson and later in her life would join the Southern Missionary Baptist Church under the late Pastor L.A. Quinn. She was an honorary mother of the church.

Dorathea worked for Eunice Beauty Salon, Granger Homes, and also Beatrice Hunt & Wesson Foods Company(Rossford,OH). Dorathea was also a top student in the state of Ohio for cosmetology earning title of licensed managing cosmetologist. She retired early in which she began a new passion, working in the community. She served many years in the Toledo Block Watch alongside the late Liz Pearson and Ruth Chatman in partnership with former Toledo mayor Carty Finkbeiner. She was awarded by the mayor for her community service and serving for years as a block captain.

Dorathea was proceeded in death by her parents Tom and Roseanna Wade, husband Charlie, and all of her siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Peggy A. White, Elaine Smith, and son Charles J. (Maxine) Smith all of Toledo. Her brother in law James K. Smith, 6 grandchildren, a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
