Delores L. Brown was born on November 5, 1954 in Marion, Indiana to John and Georgia Burton Patterson. Realizing the importance offurthering her education, Delores earned her Bachelor's and Masters Degrees in Elementary Education at Indiana Wesleyan University. Prior to the family's move to Tennessee, she taught first grade in the Marion Community School System. After moving to Tennessee in 1996,

Delores taught first and second grade at Mitchell Neilson Primary, and was named Teacher of the Year on two occasions. She was also the director of ESP, the after school program for several years. She remained at Mitchell Neilson until her retirement in December, 2016.

Delores was an active member ofthe Murfreesboro Education Association, and an officer, including President. She traveled to many conferences in that capacity, accompanied by her "ride or die" husband, Carl. They enjoyed many special times together on these and other trips.

A woman of strong faith, Delores lived as Christ taught and would offer words of wisdom to others. She was committed to her family for the forty plus years that she was with Carl. She let her light shine in her everyday life, and was an example of a Godly woman, wife, and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; and brother, Paul F. Patterson.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughters, Tamara (Torn) Abbott, Tahira (Matthew) Pyszka and Tadia Brown; grandchildren, Katrina Johnson, Zach Brown, Mia Brown, Gaby Brown, Keylon Johnson, Isabella Pyszka and Ava Pyszka; siblings, Elizabeth Dorsey! John (Kim) Patterson, Marguerite (Charles) Butler, Loraine (Dewayne) Jackson, Matthew (Kathy) Patterson, Warren (Jacquelyn) Patterson and Tina Patterson; special aunts, Marguerite and Pauline Burton; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and innumerable friends, all of whose lives have been touched by Delores's loving kindness.
