An angel has received her wings and gone home. Alice Pearl Murray was born to Tom Henry Smith and Tonie Lee Simmons Smith on February 17, 1935 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

She loved her church and was Choir President of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church for 25 years. She traveled to many places to sing and use her beautiful voice in the service of God to promote love, peace and harmony.

She greatly loved her family and friends and showed this by helping others. She was a leading advocate for special needs and handicapped children throughout Tennessee.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren and spent her life taking care of her youngest son, Michael.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Haynes and Tom Murray; son, Kenneth Haynes; brothers, TJ, Oscar and Charles Smith; sisters, Jeannette Hathaway and Irene Murray.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her precious memory: her children, JoAnn Haynes, Michael Haynes and Terry (Judy) Haynes; sister, Bobbie Jean Black; brothers, Robert (Millie) Smith and Leslie Smith; grandchildren, Terrance Haynes, Rico (April) Haynes, Marcus Haynes, Keith (Charnette) Haynes, Kenneth (Sharonda) Fletcher, Jessica (Darryl) Jackson, Jennifer Haynes and Jacqueline (Lloyd) Jeffereys; beloved niece and nephews, Chanel Black-Smith, Carlos Black and Corbitt Black; a host of other nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.

Alice was well loved by all and will greatly be missed.

To God be the glory for her long blessed life.
