On the afternoon of Saturday, November 21, 2020, God took Martha Ruth by the hand and led her to eternal rest. Martha Ruth Henry Webb was born December 29, 1943 in Rutherford County to Mr. Jimmie D. and Martha Jane McCrary Henry. She was the eighth child often.

Martha Ruth was educated in the Rutherford County School System. She graduated from Holloway High Class of 62. Later that same year she married the love of her life the late Howard "Peter" Webb of Christiana, Tennessee. They were married for over twenty-one years. God blessed them with one adopted child, Sherri DeAnn.

Martha Ruth professed her faith in Christ at an early age becoming a member of Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church. She served in various roles through the years. She was a member of the Senior choir, A Sunday School teacher, she assisted in planning/organizing many programs such as Pastor's Anniversary, Women's Day, Choir Anniversary, Easter and Christmas programs. One of her favorites was teaching Vacation Bible School. Martha Ruth was an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). She was employed at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, currently known as St. Thomas Rutherford.

After working there for fourteen years, she expanded her wings and was employed at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. She worked there several years until a back injury.

Martha Ruth loved caring for others; it was just in her nature. She was known for her giving spirit and kind heart. Before her injury, Martha Ruth was very active. She loved to dance, bowl, play horse shoes and her all time favorite was playing cards; Spades and Gin Rummy.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Lee Virthia Henry and Mary Jane Veals; brothers, Jimmy D. "Luther" Robert, John Eddie, Walter "Coonie" Henry and Fred Batten, Sr.; sister-in-law, Mabel Henry; brothers-in-law, Dennis "Pete" Veals and Hershell Newson; and very devoted niece, Frances Bryson.

She is survived by a devoted daughter, Sherri DeAnn(Fredrick "Sput") Barnes; sisters, Emma Bell Newson and Gloria Spann; brother, William D. (Emily)Henry Sr., grandchildren; Jasmine M. Whitehurst, Clayton H. Matlock II, Fredrick "Spudnik" Barnes, Jr.and Stephanie L. Barnes; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Lyric Whitehurst, Jaylen, Aaliyah and Jermiah Barnes; sisters-in-law, Stella (Freeman) Johnson, Lenda Wade, Evalena Webb and Juanita (Johnny)Woods; brother-in-law, Billy Allen Webb; devoted niece, Tammy Tyus; very devoted best friend, Mildred Ann(McGown) Lambert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
