Jeremy Donnell "Tiko" Simmons was born on October 19, 1974 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to Joseph Allen "Sim" Simmons and Melbra Thompson Simmons. He transitioned peacefully on Friday, October 16,2020 at the age of 45 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

He professed his love for Christ at a young age at First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Tiko was an avid wrestler and football player for Riverdale High School, graduating with the class of 1992. He was always eager to learn, show others what he knew, and loved history. He earned a Bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University and while attending MTSU in 1995, he was initiated into the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. by way of the Mighty Mu Zeta Chapter.

After graduation, Tiko began his career at MTSU in the Telecommunications Department, where he was a dedicated employee for 22 years. He could always be found wearing those "True Blue" colors, representing the Blue Raiders. Tiko was a remarkable cook and loved for everyone to enjoy his food. He also enjoyed fishing and keeping his vehicles and yard in immaculate condition.

Tiko never met a stranger and was known for his bold personality, as well as his incredible sense of humor. He will be fondly remembered as a loving son, beloved brother, dedicated father, caring grandfather, loyal friend, and esteemed fraternity brother.

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Allen "Sim" Simmons and niece Kasana T. Talley.

Tiko is survived by his loving and devoted children, Kerry (Chelsea) Dontel Simmons.jaylan Demarco Simmons and Jade Samaia Simmons; doting grandson, Zion Dontel Simmons; loving and devoted mother, Melbra Thompson Simmons; loving and adoring sisters, Jermetri "Jerrie" Simmons and Jovan (Eric) Turner; devoted aunts, Martha Thompson (Bennie) Lee, Gayzola (Michael) Tillage, Mary Malone and Jo Ann Butler; devoted great aunt, Sallie Simmons; uncles, Lorenzo (Maydine) Thompson, Charles Ferguson and Melvin Benford Sr.; loyal and special friends, Tony Williams, Lance Ford and Cedric Bell Sr.; loving significant other, Dr. Rhiannon Wilson; nieces and nephew, Shelby (Howard) Osaitile, Shamesha Talley, Shatoriah Simmons, Airykah Turner, Shakita Simmons, Kiyah Turner, Jayla Turner and Elijah Turner; and a host of great aunts, great uncle, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
