Obituary:
Sadie N. Matthews Wade "Granny" was born January 7, 1927 to the late Henrietta and Raymond Matthews. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at her home. Born one of six children, all have preceded her in death: William Matthews, Susie, Ike Matthews, Lula, Bessie Rainey, Wordlaw, Rose Wade, McKinley, Roosevelt Matthews, Blanch and Dorothy.

She attended the Rutherford County School System. We always thought of our mom as a nurse. She always got calls when someone was sick and most of the time was able to give them help with what they should do. She joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where her father, Raymond Matthews served as a Deacon. Mama would always read the Sunday school lesson with her dad "Papa" on Saturdays. As a member of Bethel she was a member of the Caring and Sharing Ministry, which was so fitting for her because she spent most of her adult life caring for many of her sick relatives.

Sadie married Albert W. Wade Sr. at age seventeen and this union of love spanned 73 years. From this union ten children were born, the oldest being (deceased: Nancy Wade Sanders, Green, Walter), Richard, Sgt. Albert W. Wade Jr., Iris, Shirley Wade, Tracey, Jane Knight, (Allen: deceased), Roscoe, Kennetha, Lena Turner, (Susie Wade: deceased) Kathy Wade, Deborah Elder, Tyrone and Lisa Wade. Throughout the years more children were added to this blessed union: adopted sons and nephews, John (Ann) Matthews Jr. and Steve Matthews; adopted daughters, nieces and friends, Betty Sue Matthews, Juanita Matthews, Diane Patterson, Melba Carpenter, Thida Hill and Katie Swader to name a few and there are so many people that have adopted her.

Sadie was blessed with eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three grandchildren preceded her in death: Keisha Sanders, Keith Sanders and Troy Wade; godchildren, Minister Robert Owens II, Dana, Timothy (Christie) Hill, Rose Mary Owens, Mai Elder
and Ann Swader; many devoted friends and relatives, some of which called her every day or visited her often, Tene Summers, Susie Pearl Babbs and Georgia May Smith to name a few; and devoted brother in law, Roscoe Wade (Odessa, deceased), who will cherish her memory.

She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, canning and going to the turnip green patch, and she enjoyed going to the Lee William's and Marable Twin' concerts. One of her favorite scriptures was Matthew 6:24, "I will forever remember her saying you can't serve two masters." When listening to Dr. Myles Munroe's last sermon that he preached, "Die empty", I thought was very appropriate for our mother. She was an excellent mother, sister, friend, wife, caretaker and grandmother. I truly believe that the seeds that were within her she used to create a village and then she accomplished everything God wanted her to do and she is not going to the cemetery old but empty! Well done, you truly knew how to take five loaves of bread and two fish and feed the neighborhood. Our Sunday dinners won't be the same with the three of you all missing, Daddy, Mama and Nancy! You taught us how to carry on!

Ms. Sadie Nancy Wade, age 92 of Lascassas transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at her home.

She leaves a host of loving and devoted family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Please keep the family of Ms. Sadie Nancy Wade in your thoughts and prayers.
