Obituary:
Billie Jean Martin was born December 24, 1941 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to the late James and Mary Alice Martin. She departed this earthly life to eternal life on Sunday, February 3, 2019.

Billie Jean professed Christ at an early age at Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church and sang in the Church Choir, and she also served as the Choir's President.

Billie Jean especially enjoyed watching" The Young and the Restless" (Barney and Susie had to exchange conversation on this .. .I didn't care nothing about no Victor Newman ... LOL; Matlin & Miracle watched General Hospital and Days of Our Lives, she didn't care for Stefano ... LOL); Price is Right, Lifetime (this was Matlin and mama's show), Channel 5 News, and for some strange reason she would NEVER let me change the channel on that "Big Brother," and if Barney called while it was on he would have to let her watch her program, she simply loved it. .. LOL.

Our mom and Miracle's nana was a comical person, always making you laugh Gust like Jim Martin and Mary Alice) she could imitate anyone. So if you didn't have the opportunity to know her, you definitely missed out on a treat. She was infectious. Being the children and the grandchild of this AMAZING woman, GOD definitely knew what he was doing with this plan. We can't imagine what life would have been without her. She has always been our motivation and inspiration to be "used by GOD not by people."

She is preceded in death by brothers, Michael Martin and William Patrick Martin.

Billie Jean leaves to cherish her memory, son, Barney Martin (Tammy Smith) of Shelbyville, Tennessee; daughter, Matlin Martin of Smyrna, Tennessee; granddaughter, Miracle Martin- Smith of Smyrna, Tennessee; sister, Martha Ann (Mike) Sweeney of Smyrna, Tennessee; a host of aunts and uncles, very special nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
