Kelvin Mandell Posey affectionately called "KP" was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on August 10, 1963 to the late Mattie Elizabeth Posey and Ernest Harold Rucker.

He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Silver Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

Kelvin was educated in the Public Schools of Rutherford County. He graduated in 1981 from Holloway High School.

He worked diligently for Deck Builders of Brentwood for over twenty years. He loved his family, Gospel music and the Dallas Cowboys.

He had a strong faith in God and it showed through all the people he encountered. He loved hard and believed that love didn't need to be blood.

He leaves to cherish precious memories brothers, Harold Sean (Erika) Rucker, Samuel (Dionne) Ellis; sisters, Taryn (Charles) Lillard, Rene Ellis and Belinda Ellis; devoted aunt Clara Mae Crenshaw; four devoted nieces Rokeita Henry, Markeshia (Mario) Dixon, Renisha Brown and Shekyla Moore; seven devoted nephews Johnathan Brooks, Marcus (Danielle) Ellis, Derrington (Tierney) Frazier, Alexander Frazier, Keenan Ellis, Julian Ball, Haronld Sean Rucker Jr.; nine great nephews, Jacari Ellis, Mario Dixon Jr., Nickolas Frazier, Riley Frazier, Malachi Ellis, Jayden Ellis, Elijah Ellis, Masin Dixon and Josiah Dixon; two great nieces Kimora Frazier and Nyla Frazier; play brother Robert Henry and a host relatives and many friends.
