Willie Mai Jordan was born to the late Eunice and Mary Covington Jones in Kirkland Tennessee on February 8, 1926. Willie passed away on September 8, 2018 at 7:07 p.m. at home with her family and "Katie," (her beloved Chihuahua) by her side. At the age of 92, our "Mom," our "Nana", our "Granny", our "Grandma", our "Aunt Willie Mai," our "Cousin Willie Mai," our "friend Ms. Willie Mai" closed her eyes and peacefully walked into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Willie was educated in Williamson County where she lived her entire life. She was a long time member of Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church.

Our mom was a strong, determined, independent, hard-working woman and one of a kind. We all remember when the family stopped her from driving her car at age 91, she would defiantly walk on Shelbyville Highway, Horton Highway, Covington Road, or Taliaferro Road to go where she wanted to go. Her friends and family were concerned about her walking but she was never afraid of walking night or day. We must believe that Jesus was walking by her side, keeping her safe until it was time for her to walk into His arms, so He could carry her Home.

Willie was married to William B. Jordan, Sr. for seventy years before his death in 2011and to this union five children were born three sons, John "Bubba", Jerry and Randall who preceded her in death. She persevered, despite the heartbreaking losses, and dedicated her waning years to her great-grand sons, Caleb and Cason.

She is preceded in death by one brother, Walter B.; one foster brother, William B; and six sisters, Mamie, Elizabeth, Fannie, Sadie Pearl, Eula and Beula.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two children, William (Mary) Jordan, Jr. and Fannie Jordan Harris; and ten grandchildren, Jerry Jr., Christopher, Gwendolyn, Theresa, Antonio, Deric, Alvin, III, Jatika, Jelisha, and Randall Jr.; sixteen great grandchildren, Tra'quistria, Dominique, Shauntika, Quadedra from Maryland, Marcus, Javerris, Javeah, Jadah, Jordan, Isaiah, Caleb, Cason, Iliana, Jamarcus, D'Mario, and Azalea; two great, great grandsons, Kenzell and Kaden; beloved great niece, Fronta from Indianapolis; one step-granddaughter, Alysia; one grandson-in-law, Michael Brooks; one granddaughter-in-law, Violet Fields Harris; and one daughter-in-law, Mary Otey Jordan; one sister-in-law, Ola Rucker; and one brother-in-law, Clifton Johnson; special cousins, Robert (Rita) Cunningham, May Cunningham Anderson and Sadie Covington Petway; two special granddaughters of the heart, Juanita Vaughn Batey and Beverly Presswood of Chicago; a special grandson of the heart, William McGilmer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to name but special just the same.
