Phyllis Evonda Smith Webb McDonaJd was born on November 28, 1959 to Louis Smith and the late Lucinda Cordelia Sneed in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Phyllis professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Richard W. Gordon at First Baptist Church. She continued as a faithful member and served her church faithfully in many capacities under the present leadership of Pastor James M. McCarroll Jr., until
her health prevented her.

Phyllis was educated in the Murfreesboro City School System. She graduated from Oakland High School and for four years she was a proud Patriot cheerleader. She furthered her education at Middle Tennessee State University to pursue a degree in Biology & Psychology. Phyllis also attended Motlow State Community College to follow her dream of becoming a nurse.

Her work career at the Alvin C. York Veterans Administration Medical Center confirmed her decision to become a nurse. Phyllis loved serving the veterans,
working diverse units: hospice, podiatry, the eye clinic just to name a few, wearing many hats to meet their needs. Phyllis also traveled widely to fulfill her deep interest in.medical missions. Her last trip was to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she ran a Gynecology Clinic. Not only did she serve in a health capacity but her mission group also helped lead several to Christ.

Phyllis was loved by everyone she encountered in her journey while working at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Murfreesboro, as well as in her everyday walk of life.

On September 13, 2009, Phyllis married the love of her life Reverend Dr. Michael E. McDonald, Esq.

Phyllis has been reunited with family members who preceded her in death: her mother, Lucinda Sneed; stepfather, Charles Sneed; grandfather, "Daddy
Buck"; grandmother, "Madea"; and aunt, Johnnie Grace Gates.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving, amorousness, humble, faithful, protector, Reverend Dr. Michael E. McDonald, Esq.; sweet and caring daughters, Miranda Danielle McDonald of Alexandria, Virginia and Shante Nicole McDonald of Nashville, Tennessee; father, Louis Smith; one brother, David Fishback; seven uncles, John Henry (Vanessa) Webb, J.T. (Connie) Smith, Jeffrey Smith, Charles Smith, Leslie Smith, Melvin Smith and Michael Smith; one aunt, Batavia (Johnny) Smith; nurturing and supportive
godparents, Paul and Carolyn McKnight; brothers-in-law, Charles (Renee) McDonald, Jerome McDonald, Wayne (Cynthia) McDonald and Maurice (Nikki) McDonald; sister-in-law, Lisa Williams; an abundance of cousins and friends whom she loved dearly; and loving household tabby, "Naria Bouvier McDonald."

We have a sovereign God who is in control of not only this world, but our lives. Nothing gets by God. ~ Psalm 90
