Obituary:
Bessie Gail Dunnaway was born on September 15, 1943 to the late Lena Murray in Beechgrove, Tennessee.

At an extremely young age Bessie lost her mother, Lena Murray. This open door allowed her aunt, Nora Murray to step in and show her the love of a mother.

Bessie was educated at Rosenwald School and Davidson Academy. Her work career was formed at Chromlox and the Alvin C. York Veterans Administration Hospital.

At an early age Bessie accepted Christ and she became active in the church serving in various ministries. She went on to become President of the Women's Congress of Cumberland Primitive
Baptist Association Sister Treasure of Women, President of the Greeters Ministry and the President of the Kitchen Ministry at Antioch Primitive Baptist.

On September 5, 1987, Bessie was united in Holy Matrimony to Hollis Dunnaway who preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories sister, Orrie Mai Northcutt; brothers, Willie (Shirley) and Bruce (Margie) Murray; devoted caregiver, Larry (Annie) Murray and Ja'Niyah Mitchell; stepchildren, Ricky Dunnaway, Miranda Hailey and Rita Dunnaway; nieces, Christy (Daryl) Wray,Jeanetta Murray, Melody (Miles) Merritt, Shewinna (Kevin) Holt; devoted cousins, Ronnie (Marsha) Murray, Donnie Murray, Steven Murray, Bonnie (Carl) Richardson and Jerry (Patricia) Murray; aunt, Nora Murray; devoted friends, Mrs. Freeland Williams, Tronchie Verge and Edna Swader; a host of other relatives, friends, her Pastor & Church Family of Antioch Church,
