Annie T. Howard was born on February 3, 1930 in Shelbyville, Tennessee to Robert Cannon and Lessie B. Trice.

She attended the Bedford County Training School in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Annie began her work career in the Bedford County School District and the Empire Pencil Company of which she retired from.

On April 11, 1959, Annie was united in Holy Matrimony to Rufus Howard Jr.

Annie was a faithful member of Scotts Chapel United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and served in various ministries. She loved her Pastor and Church Family.

Mama Ann, as she was called by many, was a sweet and caring woman. She enjoyed her coloring books, puzzles, cooking, shopping, watching "The Price is Right," and spending time with her family.

She was preceded by her parents; her loving and devoted husband, Rufus Howard Jr., brother, Cannon, William Cannon, Sr., Bobby Trice and Arthur Trice; and special cousin, Garan Maupin. Loving survivors who will forever cherish Mama Ann's memories are her devoted son, Oscar Cannon, Sr.; loving daughter-in-law, Jaclyn Cannon of Unionville, Tennessee; devoted daughters, Gloria Howard of Antioch, Tennessee and Roxie Howard of Shelbyville, Tennessee; grandson, Oscar Cannon Jr.; granddaughter, Cynthia Newsome; great grandson, Oscar J. Newsome; devoted godson, Charles (Fonda) Rippy Jr.; sisters, Pauline Jackson and Celistine Emmons; brothers, Bobby Cannon, Jerry (Judy) Trice and Andrae Trice; sisters-in-law, Emma Thompson, Barbara Howard, Joyce Neely, Jean Gregory and Mary Howard; devoted cousins, Eugene (Olivia) Ray, Shelia Maupin, Shay Blessing and Malik Gates; her special "sisters," Marilyn Massengale, Jane Lanier and Peggy DuBray; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
