Odie Thompson was born March 24, 1961 in Marion, Indiana to Pink Taylor Jr. and Linda Barker. He transitioned suddenly from this earthly life to eternal life on Sunday, August 6,2017 at St. Thomas Rutherford,
Murfreesboro, Tennessee at the young age of 56.

He was adopted at birth by his parents, Odie & Flora Thompson, Sr.

He matriculated through the Marion Community School System graduating from Marion High School in 1979. After high school he furthered his education at Ball State University and received his Associates of Arts Degree.

In 2009 Odie married the love of his life, Brenda Anderson.

Odie loved children, dogs and helping people in need. He often fancied himself as a shade tree mechanic and always talked about changing out the engine of his first car. He was most proud of his ability to ride the one hand wheelie long distances. Odie also enjoyed all sports but he especially loved the New York Giants. He was very active and enjoyed playing basketball, bowling and playing Spades with family and friends. He was precede? in death by parents, Odie & Flora "Honey" Thompson, Sr.; mother, Linda Barber; grandparents, Pink Taylor, Sr. and Estella Crockett.

Odie is survived by his wife, Brenda Thompson; children, Kasandra McNair, Destiny Thompson, Demetric Wise, Richard Denney and Reggie Davis; father, Pink Taylor Jr.; sister, Olivia "Liz" Walker (Tederail); brothers, Arthur Taylor (Rhonda), Douglas Taylor (Tina) and Larry Thompson; grandchildren, Kiandra, Reggie, K.J., Davien, Avionne, Amiyah, Kylan, Karin, Raquel, Aaliyah, Reggie and Davian; aunts, Bernice Smith and Betty Gibson; a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special cousins, Jake & Precious; and best friends, Terry Rude and Anthony Stanley (Cheezley).
