Charles Neil Smith After 60 beautiful years of blessing our lives, Charles Neil Smith transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Wednesday evening of November 30, 2016 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Charles Neil was born September 16, 1956 to Bessie Mae and the late Thomas "T.J." Smith. He was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Frederick Smith.

Charles Neil accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of New Beginnings Christian Center. He retired from Heritage Farms in 2007. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, cooking and watching football.

Charles Neil was married to Shirley Nevils Smith for 34 years, and to this union three children were born.

Charles Neil was loved by all who knew him. "Neil" as he was called by his family, was adored by all his sisters and brothers. He was a very devoted son
who was always concerned about the care and well being of his mother. He truly was a wonderful example of a life well lived.

Charles Neil is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Petrina; sons, Charles Michael and Kenneth Smith; mother, Bessie Mae Smith; brothers, Thomas, William (Mary) and Johnny Smith; sisters, Callie Mai Smith, Lisa
Swader, Kathy (Elder Corey) Howse and Mary Jean (Darryl) Williams; aunts, Margaret Malone, Alice P. Murray, Bobbie Jean Black and Mary Elizabeth Smith; uncles, Leslie Smith, Robert Smith and Henry Miller; mother-in-law, Margaret Ladd Nevils; sisters-in-law, Vandaila Booker and Carolyn Young; brothers-in-law, John, William, Tommy and Allen Nevils; close friends,

You left me with beautiful memories
Your love is still my guide,
And though I cannot see you,
You're always at my side.
Rest now Charles,
Love you always,
