Today we celebrate the life of Deaconess Nancy Wade Sanders Green. Nancy was born August 22, 1946 to Albert Willie and Sadie Nancy Wade. Nancy transitioned from her earthly life on November 1, 2016. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Allen Sanders; her daughter, LeKeshia Shaunte Sanders; her son, Brian Keith Sanders; her sister Susie Wade; and brother-in-law, Allen Knight.

Nancy was a 1964 Holloway High School graduate. She received her degree from MTSU. She was an active member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and a Deaconess. She also directed Vacation Bible School and taught classes in the State and National Conventions.

Nancy was an active member of the Wisdom of Elders, which is now called African American Voice of Past and Present of Rutherford County. She was employed through the Rutherford County School Systems, where she taught at Central Middle and Siegel Middle Schools. She enjoyed bowling with her brothers.

On August 3, 2013, Nancy was married to Richard Green.

Nancy leaves to cherish her amazing memories her loving husband, Richard Van Green; parents, Albert and Sadie Wade; siblings, Albert (Iris), Shirley (Tracey) Wade, Jane Knight (deceased Allen), Roscoe (Kennetha) Wade, Lena Turner, Kathy Wade, Deborah (Tyrone) Elder, and Lisa Wade; adopted sister, Diane Patterson; play sisters, Melba Carpenter, Katie Swader and Juanita Matthews; devoted cousins-in-law, Peggy Howse, Edna Strickland, James (Tamesia) Green, Margaret Burks, Claude (Ann) Green, Evelyn (Gleece) Willis, Franklin Green, Sammy Green, Gloria Ann (Samuel) Crowder and Jerry Green; play daughters, Shonna Sensabaugh and Cynthia Matthews - Hall; god children, Michia Wade, Tye Elder, Tiffany Elder and Shantika Cason; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Aunt Nancy you will never fade in our memories and your smile will never leave our hearts. You will always be by our side. We will always remember your bright spirit. John 3: J 6 reads "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. " You are truly an Angel. We love you. May you rest in peace.
