Sunrise for the life of Byron Jeryl Brandon, Sr. began September 13, 1953 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Sunset occurred on August 28, 2016. He was born to Dorothy Louise Brandon and the late Raymond Scales, Sr.

He received his education in the Rutherford County Public School System, and was among the Central High School graduating class of 1971. After graduation he began his career at Ford Motor Glass Plant where he worked over 25 years.

He was formerly married to Nora Chunn-Brandon of Nashville, Tennessee and to this union two children were born.

Byron accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior early in life at First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Byron had a passion for music and was very talented. He was able to successfully play several different instruments during his early years but his favorite was the alto saxophone. He played in several bands throughout Tennessee, his first band the "Soul Tempos" was his starting point. He helped start this band with close friends Michael Harrison who played the Drums, Jerry Johnson - Bass Guitar, Casey Clark - Lead Guitar, Malcolm Butler- Tenor Saxophone, Clinton Brown - Keyboards, and Preston Scales - Vocalist.
He really enjoyed, music, entertaining others, and videography during his spare time.

Byron was fun-loving, ambitious, outgoing, spirited and a beautiful person inside and out. He always had a smile on his face and his laugh was contagious and unforgettable. He was a giving man who would give you whatever he had if needed. He was a wonderful son, father, nephew, cousin and friend who loved his family. He will greatly be missed.

Cherishing his memories are his loving mother, Dorothy Brandon; daughters, Jershua (Darryl) Brandon-Martin of Smyrna, Tennessee, Metral Brandon of Nashville, Tennessee and Kimberly (Antonio) Thompson of Shelbyville, Tennessee; loving sons, Byron J. Brandon II of Nashville, Tennessee and Carlos (Khristina) Brooks of Shelbyville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Destin K.
