Mary retired from Smyrna Rehabilitation Center. She also worked at Donelson Hospital and part time at Food Lion grocery store until her health failed. Her hobbies are fishing, planting flowers, her favorite
flowers were her roses, and she loved her dog, Squeaky.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Bill" William; parents, Malinda Kate and James Shepherd; grandchild, LaCota Hardy; brother, James William Shepherd, Jr.; aunts and uncles, James and
Mary Alice Martin, James Gooch and Cleo Talley; and cousin, Miranda Talley.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory three children, Karen (Lewis) Hunt, Douglas (Rebecca) Hardy and Mitchell (Ann) Hardy; half brother, Henry Lee Alexander of California; half sister, Colleen Harris;three grandchildren, Mario, Markus and Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Mothers love is something only her and her kids share.
And when everyone else lets you down, she'll always be there.
A Mothers love is sweet and so pure.
No matter what the ailment, she always has the cure.
Her voice telling you, its going to be alright,
Has kept many a child from tossing all night.
At times you may feel like she just doesn't care,
But stop and ask yourself, why is the always there.
Your Mother s love is so strong and true.
You should try to show her that you love her too.
Say a prayer to the Lord above
And thank Him for your Mother s love.
