Obituary:
Walter Albert Patterson Jr. was born on December 14, 1943 to Walter Albert and Sam Ella Butler Patterson in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

He was educated in the Rutherford County School System. Thereafter he joined the United States Marine Corps serving his country and receiving an honorable discharge.

Walter professed his faith in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Roosevelt Evans as a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

He worked for the City of Louisville, Kentucky for 25 years before moving back to Walter Hill, Tennessee. He continued his work experience with the Rutherford County School System and Middle Tennessee State University as a custodian, retiring from both schools.

Walter loved riding his motorcycle and was a member of the "Red Devil" Motorcycle Club of Louisville, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter A. and Sam Ella Patterson; daughter, Myrna Patterson; two brothers, George Patterson and William C. Patterson.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Terry Joe (Elaine) Martin of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Walter "Mac" Patterson II of Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Alexa Austin of California; two special
grandsons whom he became a father too, Ohnyale Patterson of South Carolina and Dohnyale "Donnie" Patterson of Walter Hill, Tennessee; grandchildren, Tandra Martin, DeVaughn Patterson, Josiah Patterson,
Alexa Knuckles and Amaiya Knuckles; two brothers, John Patterson and James (Vivian) Patterson of Walter Hill, Tennessee; four sisters, Josephine Bass, Mary R. Watkins of Walter Hill, Fronia Cantrell of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Julie (Harold) Johnson of Louisville,
Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Mary R. Patterson and Geneva Patterson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
