What a joy! Throughout life, his warm personality quickly turned strangers into friends and frowns into smiles. Even now, the family fondly recalls the way he scooted around as a baby instead of crawling.
Kendrick's life experiences reflected his love of learning. As he grew up, he spent many active summers on his grandfather's farm. He graduated from Benjamin Banneker High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently, he was enrolled in the LEAP program at Oakwood University, Huntsville, Alabama, where he was completing his Bachelor's degree in Church Leadership.
November became a significant month for Kendrick. On November 4, 2001, he and Roslyn became one in holy matrimony in Atlanta, Georgia. What a beautiful occasion that was! God blessed them with two precious gems: Zoe and Kendall.
Kendrick was known for his commitment to Christ. Over the years, he served the church as a Youth Leader, Sabbath School teacher, Deacon, and AYS Leader. He embraced each of these positions with prayerful enthusiasm. His vocal talents were used to glorify God as he sang solos, with a Male Chorus and with several church choirs. One of his favorite songs was "Center of My Joy." Not only did he enjoy this song, he became the center and source of joy to those he knew and met. Many had the pleasure of hearing, "Who you is? What your name is?" as he cheerfully and laughingly built lasting relationships.
This separation will not last very long for our Lord and Savior is coming soon. Those who look forward to a glorious reunion and eternal life together with him are his loving wife, Roslyn; children, Zoe and Kendall; mother, Dianne Finley of Valdosta, Georgia; father, Willie Frank Walker (Alice) of Miami, Florida; sisters, Rosalyn Edge of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Kawana Cox (Torrie) of Miami, Florida; in-laws, Matthew and Ada Kirby of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Pamela Shirtz (Ryan) of Glendora, California, and Michelle Sharon Thomas of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Kendrick's Favorite Scripture "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33 |
