Raymond Freeman Muse was born on April 30, 1949 and fell asleep in death on July 22, 2015 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Raymond was the fourth child born to Jimmie and Mildred Muse who preceded him in death. His two sisters, Teresa Lynn Okwu and Joyce Andrea Muse also preceded him in death.

Raymond attended Little Bethel Elementary School and graduated from Walter Hill High School.

After high school, Raymond served in the United States Army. After his discharge, he worked as a truck driver and retired from Averitt, Coca Cola, Cal Gas and US Foodservice.

Raymond was a "people person." No one was a stranger to him. He was totally unselfish and was willing to help anyone. He was also a deeply sensitive man who was not afraid to cry.

In recent months, Raymond had been studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and thoroughly enjoyed what he was learning. He especially appreciated that the earth will soon become a paradise (Luke 23:43) under peaceful conditions (Psalms 37:9-10) and that sickness will be no more (Isaiah 33:24) nor death (Revelation 21:3-4).

Raymond will forever be remembered by his loving family: two sons, Raymond Shondale Muse of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Leon (Nikki) Muse; three brothers, Bobby Batey of Smyrna, Tennessee, Jimmie (Jeanette) Muse and Andrew (Pearl) Muse of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one sister, Juanita (Henry) Williams of Baltimore, Maryland; five grandchildren, Naomi, Trinity, Bethany, Anthony and Laila; one niece, Leslie Williams Johnson of Stone Mountain, Georgia; two nephews, Matthew and Michael Williams of Baltimore, Maryland; a host of other relatives and friends.
