Obituary:
James Houston Cooper was born to belated parents, James Clayborne and Margaret Houston Cooper on May 23, 1943. He transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on June 10, 2015 at his home.

He was born and raised in Rutherford County and started school at Dillard Elementary.

Known as James at Journeys, he was affectionately called "Houston" and "Hue" by his family and friends.

At an early age, he attended Rockvale Original Church of God with his family. In adulthood, he began commuting by van to The Rutherford County Adult Activity Center now called Journeys in Community Living that he seemed to enjoy over 30 years. He was cared for at home by his parents until their old age and health failed then he became a resident of Journeys in 1997. The two management staff that have been with Houston at Journeys from beginning are Mrs. Betty McNeely (Director) and Mrs. Frances Cook (Social Worker).

Also preceding Houston death is his brother, Joe Willis Cooper and nephew, Timothy Frazier.

He leaves to cherish his memories sister, Claytie Cooper Frazier; two nieces, Katrina Curtis (Charles), and Laronda Frazier; one nephew, Shawn Frazier (Cheri); three great nieces, Alexis, Meah and Sanaa Frazier; three great nephews, Jamison Frazier, Christopher and Cameron Curtis; and two housemates, "Bubba" and David; a host of other relatives and friends.

"So Go And Run Free"

So go and run free with the angels
Dance around the golden clouds
For the Lord has chosen you to be with Him
And I should feel nothing but proud
Although He has taken you from me
And my pain a lifetime will last
Your memory will never escape me
But make me glad for the time we did have
Your face will always be hidden
Deep inside my heart
Each precious moment you gave me
Shall never ever depart
So go ahead and run free with the angels
As they sing so tenderly
In Heaven, I know God will take care of you
He will make you whole.
~Love,
Your sister
