Obituary:
Finess "Jelly" Huston Brown, Sr. was born on March 24, 1937 in Pulaski, Tennessee. He was the son of Katie Killebrew and Floyd Brown. He transitioned from this life to his heavenly reward on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

Finess graduated from Carver Smith High School in Maury County, Tennessee where he played football in 1956. He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge at the rank of Private First Class. Finess retired from Commonwealth Edison in Skokie, Illinois after 29 years of service. He had a passion for driving the school bus and proudly served for more than 40 years.

Finess had an outstanding personality and an infectious laugh and smile. He was truly loved by all who crossed his path. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was currently a member of Believer's Faith Fellowship Church in Christiana, Tennessee where he also served as a bus driver.

Finess was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, Cora Martin, sister, Fannie Brown, and cousin, Cecil Morris.

He leaves to forever cherish his memory, his wife, Rolanda Brown of 17 years; his children, Paulette (Ronnie) Horlbeck of N Charleston, South Carolina, Patricia Brown-Crowe of Columbia, Tennessee, Finess (Catina) Brown of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Kirby (Chan) Graham of Evanston, Illinois, Kimberly Graham of Phenix City, Alabama, Kwayland (Keli) Smith of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, Channing Nicole of Atlanta, Georgia, and Xavier Smith of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one brother, W.R. Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Finess III, Treven, Jordan, Jaylyn,Yentl, Kala, Chandra, Sarina-Joi, Tyrell, Anthony, Andre, Ashley, Kyle, Kalin, Rico, Kirby Jr., Kamari, Kyree, Khloe', and Kennedy; five great grandchildren; his mother and father-in-law, Willie (Shirley) Jackson of N Chicago, Illinois; brother and sisters-in-law, Kelvis Smith of Gurnee, Illinois, Angelique Tatum of Phoenix, Arizona, and Dwana (Ricky) Allen of Dallas, Texas; one god-daughter, Mikeeya Murray of Knoxville, Tennessee; and special nephew, Tony Mason of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Finess loved his family and friends dearly, they were a special crew that he loved like brothers, Hugh Mitchell, Walter Mitchell, Ray Austin, Pierre Lyons, and Robert Mack; a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He will be missed but never forgotten.
