Obituary:
Modena Glenn was born to Elnora Hendricks in Eagleville, Tennessee on September 27, 1928. She departed this earthly life on February 16, 2015.

She attended Rutherford County Schools. She professed a hope in Christ at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Modena was married to Jordan Carney.

Modena was a soul food cook. There wasnt anything she could not cook. In 1989, the Daily New Journal featured her Custard Egg Pie, Old Fashioned Corn Dumplings and Old Fashion Buttery Rolls recipes in the paper. She had a love for helping young children.

She is proceeded in death by mother, Elnora Hendricks and step father, Alvin Jarrett.

She is survived by two brothers, Thomas (Cora) Jarrett, of Smyrna, and Richard (Sylvia) Jarrett, Sr., of Christiana; two nephews, Michael (Quenteena, Q.T.) Jarrett, of Murfreesboro and Richard Jarrett, Jr., of Christiana; one niece, Jasmine Jarrett, of Atlanta, Georgia; one great niece, Ashlee Jarrett; devoted cousins, Mary Rucker and Margaret Luster Lee; and an abundance of cousins and friends.

God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb.
He gently closed those loving eyes,
And whispered peace be thine.
The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepless nights are past.
That ever patient worn out frame, has found sweet peace at last.
