Obituary:
On July 2, 1924 in Tillatoba, Mississippi, Emmanuel and Mattie Allen Garner welcomed their youngest daughter, Susie Fleming into the world. She was the baby of six brothers and two sisters, whom all have preceded her in death.

Susie was educated at Tillatoba Elementary School, a Boarding School in Whiteville, Tennessee. From there she attended Clearview High School in Clearview, Oklahoma graduating as Valedictorian. Susie furthered her education at Langston University & Community College in Richmond, Virginia receiving an Associates Degree in Home Economics.

In 1951, she married Welton Fleming, from this union two sons were born, Reggie (Regina) of Houston, Texas, and Percy (Cynthia) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, whom she leaves to cherish her legacy.
Susie was an active and outgoing person. She was a Life Member of the NAACP, a Las Vegas Mission supporter, a member of the American Cancer Association and in her church: as a Missionary, Willing Workers, President of the Youth and Adult Usher Board, these only name a few of her affiliations.

Susie worked for the Diagnostic School for the Blind, as well as the Fremont School for the Blind for 19 years before retiring.
On Monday, December 29, 2014, Susie had her Mind Stayed on Jesus, and transitioned from this earthly life the eternal life in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She also leaves to cherish her memory, grandchildren, Angela, Percy Jr., and Shirelle; her great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and dear friends.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress,
My God in whom I trust.
