Paul was born in Weaver, Indiana, the son of James Arnold Burton
and Emma Melvina Smith Burton.

Paul lived most of his life in Marion, Indiana and at Fox Lake,
Indiana. Paul Dutch Burton, 88, of Murfreesboro, died Monday,
November 10, 2014.

Paul was a self-taught electrician and plumber from reading books
while a 1st Shift janitor at Indiana-Michigan Electric Company.
After gaining his certification as a Master Electrician Paul was
hired as the first Black Meter Reader for Indiana-Michigan Electric
Company. Paul opened, owned and operated Paul Burton and Sons
Electrical and Plumbing Business. Paul went on to work for Fisher
Body (a division of General Motors), where he retired after 15

In 2000, Paul and Pauline headed south to Murfreesboro,

Paul loved the outdoors!

Paul attended Bethel AME in Marion, Indiana, First Congregational
United Church of Christ in Angola, Indiana, and World Outreach
Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Paul and his brother, Herman
volunteered as Drivers for the American Cancer Society while in

Paul was Man of God, a devoted husband, a devoted family man,
and he was always willing to help his neighbors.

His sons, Robert Leon Burton and Richard H. Burton, Sr. preceded
him in death.

Paul is survived by his lovely and devoted wife, Pauline Veta
Ross Burton of 68 years; his sons, Tommy (Darlene) Burton, and
Clark Burton; his grandchildren, Richard Burton Jr., Patrice Burton,
Avannia (Elliot) Walker, Robert Paul Burton, Crystal Burton
Owens, and Cedric Burton; ten greatgrandchildren; numerous
other family members and friends, and his special traveling partner
(nephew), Carl Brown
