Ms. Peggy Elizabeth Gooch was born on February 1, 1934 to George Washington and Aline Mayes in Nashville Tennessee. She departed this earthly life on April 29, 2014.

Peggy received her formal education through the Davidson County Public School System where she excelled in her studies.

Sister Peggy accepted Christ in her life at a very young age.

Peggy was a housekeeper for many years, as well as a devoted homemaker to her ten children. In her leisure time, she enjoyed singing, listening to blues and jazz, and dancing with her sisters, children, and grandchildren. Peggy Gooch was truly blessed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Aline Mayes; beloved sisters, Eleanore Alexander and Margaret Spicer; two brothers, George and Rufus Mayes.

Peggy leaves to cherish her memory four daughter, Barbara (John) Gooch, Dorothy (Nate) Sanders-Ridley, Sarah (Jesse) Gooch, Carolyn (Willie) Gooch; six sons, Alterry (Eva) Gooch, Charles Gooch, James Gooch, Robert Gooch, Jimmy Gooch, and Timmy (Angela) Gooch; two sisters, Sarah Ann Gooch and Betty (George) Collier; one brother, Edward Mayes; 35 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
