"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" ~ II Timothy 4:7

Jessie L. Perkins was born on March 24, 1941 in Senatobia, Mississippi to Rance Perkins, Sr. and Sarah H. Perkins. He transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Saturday, February 8, 2014.

He accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age at Hamon Hill Baptist Church in Mississippi.

In 1955 Jessie moved to Memphis, Tennessee and resided there until 2007, where he then moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Jessie was married to Mary Ann Thomason Perkins for 19 years.
After moving to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, he attended Antioch Primitive Baptist Church with his brother. He enjoyed and loved the fellowship of the church family that he became a member under the leadership of Pastor B. L. Russell. He continued to serve the Lord and became a Deacon. Jessie loved to work for the Lord. He was a van driver, and delivered plate lunches to the sick and shut-in.

Jessie was one who never met a stranger, and always shared his love of Christ with everyone. You would see Jessie and Main (his brother) riding around showing and sharing brotherly love. They were each other's best friend.

Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Rance and Sarah Perkins; three sisters, Margaret Walton, Mary Katherine Walton and Clara McNeil; and one brother, Oliver Perkins.

Jessie leaves to cherish his memories, devoted wife, Mary Ann Perkins; one brother, Rance (Rosie) Perkins Jr.; one sister, Rubyten Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee; two brothers-in-law, Alonzo (Hope) Thomason of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Robert Lee Thomason of Memphis, Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Theresa Thomason of Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jessie we've shared our lives these many years. You've held my hand; you've held my heart. So many blessings, so few tears. Yet for a moment, we must part. The memories you've given me are times I've shared with my best friend. I'll hold them with love right here in my heart they will be until we share our lives again.
~Your loving wife,
Mary Ann
