Obituary:
Phil Patterson Jr. was born on May 5, 1939, to the union of Phil Patterson Sr. and Ruby Odom Patterson in the Walter Hill Community. He transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, January 27, 2014, at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Phil was a 1957 graduate of Holloway High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he was Valedictorian of the class. For 39 years, he was an employee with Textron Aerostructures, where he served in the capacity as a foreman, and later, a Supervisor. He retired from Textron on May 31, 2001. Phil also served his community around Rutherford and Davidson counties as a Tax Accountant.

Phil Jr., Uncle June, as he was commonly known, professed hope in Christ at an early age at Bethel, under the leadership of Reverend Roosevelt Evans. During his dedicated tenure at Bethel, he served as President of the Usher Board and currently, he was Chairman of the Trustee Board.

Phils favorite past-times were taking pictures, shooting pool and he had an unconditional love for his cars, especially the antique one. He also had an undying love for vanilla Blue Bell or Purity ice cream.

On October 23, 1960, Phil was married into Holy Matrimony to his loving and devoted soul mate, Mary E. Johnson Patterson. To this union, two loving children were brought to this earth, daughter, Vonnie and son, Reginald.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Chaney, Florence Swader and Barbara Albert; one brother, James Rhodes; nephews, Dale Rhodes, and Irvin Albert, Jr.; nieces, Claudia Swader, and Medyka Dillard.

Phil leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Mary Ella Patterson; two devoted children, Vonnie (Arthur) Sneed, and Reginald (Selma-devoted) Patterson Sr.; grandchildren, Latoria Phillips, Tamar Butler, Miracle Hughes and Reginald Patterson Jr.; five step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Rhodes, Dorothy Johnson, Rena Johnson, and Johnnie Wade; devoted cousins, Pauline Wade and Juanita Matthews; special friends, James and Etta Collier and Gary Hathaway, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
