Obituary:
Aleyne Baxter Wilson Garner was born on May 15, 1926 in Lewisburg, Tennessee to Riley Baxter, Sr. and Effie Mitchell Baxter. She transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on January 27, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Effie Mitchell Baxter, Sr.; sisters, Mrs. Loretta Green, Mrs. Claudia Martin, Mrs. Lucille Allen, Mrs. Jennie Craig; and brothers, Mr. Bruce Baxter and Mr. Luther Baxter.

At a very young age, she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Pitts.

Aleyne attended the public schools of Davidson County and furthered her education by attending A&I State College, now known as Tennessee State University.

Aleyne worked at Hubbard Hospital as a nurse and she later became employed at Vanderbilt Hospital, where she worked for 35 + years.
One evening in 1963, as she was walking home from work she met Willie Lee Garner, they were married shortly after. They enjoyed 50 wonderful years together.

She leaves to treasure her memory devoted husband, Mr. Willie L. Garner; children, Joan Wilson Little Bass, Thomas Wilson, and Alesia Wilson; step children, Linda Garner, and Mrs <a href="http://www.bookstore-cheap.com/">ICC IMC</a>. Cassandra DeHart of Booneville, Mississippi; grandchildren, Eric Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia, Corey Little, James Howard, and Orlando Howard; six great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Betty Smith; brother, Riley Baxter, Jr.; nieces, Rebecca Martin, Effie Hargroves, Vevlon McMurry, Joann Millon, Angela Baxter, Karen Woodruf, and Jessica Brook; nephews, Alonza Martin, Lawrence Shoate, Riley Baxter III, Michael McDonald, Joseph McDonald, and Lonnie Shoate; and a host of other family members and friends.
