Will Simmons Jr. was born April 4, 1941 in Rutherford County to the late Will and Ida Lou Simmons. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his son, Shondale Simmons; four sisters, Clara Simmons Roach, Lillie Lillard, Martha Virginia Edmondson and Frankie Lucille Simmons; four brothers, George W. Simmons, Richard H. Simmons, Sr., Fred Simmons, and James Simmons.

Will was educated in the Rutherford County School System and attended Holloway High School where he played on the football team. He was a cook at various restaurants and later retired from Paramount Packaging after many years of service.

Will thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family, as well as, watching Westerns, football and listening to Spiritual programs. He was a very friendly person and loved riding around and helping others; he was one who never met a stranger.

Will leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Simmons; devoted daughters, Cathy (Phil) Jordan, and Jasmine Simmons; son, Michael Sneed; dearly devoted sisters, Bessie Williams, Perry Bowens, and Sallie Simmons; devoted grandchildren, Latreka, LaShonda, Carlos, Marquesha, Jessica, Diamon, and Joshua; nine great grandchildren; aunt, Ida Hughes; devoted sisters-in-law, Geneva Patterson, Bobby Jean (Ben) Brooks, Carolyn Jeter, and Ernestine Floyd; brother-in-law, Charles (Roslyn) Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Annette Simmons; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; devoted play-daughter, Gladys Vaughter; devoted cousins, Henrietta Gaines, Byrd and Faye Haynes, Robert L Smith, Mary Ruth Veals, Tom Gaines, and Luravaille Spicer; special friends, Earl McCroskey, Kenneth Tillage, Dallas Davis, and John Collier; devoted neighbors, Gale Andrews, and Sharon Howse Puckett; and a host of other relatives and many many friends.
