She departed this life on Monday, November 2, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Patterson, Sr.; sons, George Patterson and William Cumby Patterson.
She united with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the pastorage of Rev. Charles Evans, where she was a faithful member until her health failed. She served as a Deaconess, past president of Pastor's Aide, usher, member of Sunday Church School and an active member of the Smithfork District Association.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four daughters, Josephine (Dalton Griffin) Bass, Mary R. Watkins, Fronia Cantrell, all of Murfreesboro, TN and Julia (Harold) Johnson of Louisville, KY; three sons, Walter Patterson, Jr., John M. Patterson and James E. (Vivian) Patterson, all of Walter Hill, TN; daughter-in-law, Mary R. Patterson; 29 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and other relatives and friends. |
