Curtis Lemons was born December 6, 1940 to the union of Mike and Pearl Lemons, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He accepted Jesus, as his Lord and Savior at an early age. In 2010, he relocated to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to be closer to his daughter. At that time, he joined New Hope Church of God in Christ and was a faithful member and prayer warrior. At his passing, he was an active member of God's House of Promise Ministry, doing all he could to minister to lost souls. Deacon Curtis loved the Lord with all of his heart; and was faithful to God's word until he was called to Eternal Life on Thursday, June 6, 2013.

He married Betty J. Benjamin on January 27, 1973. Curtis had four children whom he loved, Curtis Lemons, Jr., Karlton Lemons, Dionne Lemons McCullough, and Edward D. Lemons Ross; and the latter two they raised together. Deacon Curtis retired from Cox Cable in San Diego, California and Alliance Rubber in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He loved to talk in parables, sharing "Curtis-isms" with his family and friends, and encouraging all he encountered to get right. He never tired of giving good sound "Godly" advice. He was a gentle, caring, and generous man who always put his family first.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Mike Lemons Sr. and Pearl Lemons; brothers, Mike Lemons Jr., Ed Lemons, Fred Lemons, and Earnest Lemons; sisters, Dorothy Hickman, Maggie Hampton, and Ida Pearl Willis; and son, Curtis Lemons Jr.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his devoted wife of 40 years, Betty J. Lemons; sons, Edward D. Lemons Ross of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Karlton Lemons of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Dionne E. Lemons (Deltric) McCullough of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one brother, Burt D. (Audrey) Lemons, Sr. of Port Arthur, Texas; one sister, Ollie M. Watson (James)-deceased of Hot Springs, Arizona; brother-in law, Salomon Willis (Ida)-deceased; sister-in-law, Thelma Lemons (Fred)-deceased; four grandsons, Christopher Ross, Christian Campbell, Devin Campbell, and DJ McCullough; granddaughters, Allisyn Ross, Kaitlyn Ross and three other granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
