Obituary:
Lillie Pearl Carney Owens was born May 3, 1936 to the late Lee and Ida Jordan Sheffield in Eagleville, Tennessee. She departed this life suddenly on Sunday, May 19, 2013 in the comfort of her home in Eagleville, Tennessee.

Lillie accepted Christ at an early age at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Baleem Lanier.

Lillie attended Cedar Grove School and Holloway High School. At the age of 13 she began playing the piano. Lillie provided music for various churches and groups for over 60 years. Her current employment was at her home church.

She married Andrew Louis Owens on February 20, 1953 and to this union five children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Louis Owens and granddaughter, Kenya K. Lillard.

Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Patricia Crowley of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Gloria (Jeffery) Lillard of Rockvale, Tennessee, Cassandra Owens of Eagleville, Tennessee, Anton (Brenda) Owens of Columbia, Tennessee, and Kerry Owens of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; uncle, Joe (Rosie) Carney; sisters-in-law, Mary B. Davis and Margaret (Brown) Lee; grandchildren, Desheria McClain, Ashonté Owens, Khendal Lillard, Khameron Lillard, Tiary Owens, Dra'son Rucker and James Jordan; great grandchildren, Ja'Karriyah McClain and Jaiden McClain; devoted nieces, Viola (Nathaniel) Jordan and Mary D. Davis; other nieces, Annie Davis and Teresa Steger; nephew, Robert Davis; foster grandchildren, Annice Oglesby, Georgio Osborne, Brooklyn Helm, Amond Oglesby, and Mercedes Adams; devoted friends, Teresa Woods, Ora Jean Ransom, Jessie Mai Bond, Rosie Thomas, Carolyn Mason, Fannie Randolph and Harold Hall; and many other relatives and friends.
