"...and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course,I have kept the faith."
II Timothy 4:6-7

Deacon Fritz Dodard was born November 13, 1941, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was the beloved son of the late Anna Dodard and Grand Pierre. He was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at his residence in Murfreesboro, TN.

Deacon Fritz was educated in Haiti and at age 18, he entered the Haitian army. He relocated from Haiti to the Bahamas in1968; he stayed in the Bahamas for two years. He then moved to New Jersey in where he lived for 40 years. He was employed at Hoffman La-Roche as a truck driver for 12 years and soon moved on to work for Nassau- Alloy for 18 years, while working for Nassau-Alloy he suffered a stroke that put him out of work.

Deacon Fritz was united in Holy Matrimony to Maisie Rosado. This union was blessed with years of love, devotion and happiness. In 1994 they moved from New Jersey to Florida where they worshiped at Reaching Higher Full Gospel Church, where he became a deacon. In 2006, they relocated to Murfreesboro, Tennessee and joined New Hope Church of God in Christ where he also served as a Deacon until being called home.

"Papa Fritz," as he was affectionately called, by family and friends was a husband, father, grandfather, and uncle too many that admired and respected him and his wisdom. He was a man of little words but when he spoke, you were compelled to listen. Papa Fritz never waivered in his faith in God and was a true example of a faithful servant. His faith and strength in the Lord was contagious to all that came in contact with him. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, traveling and being near the ocean.

Deacon Fritz is the last of his siblings and was preceded in death by two brothers, Max Dodard and OJ Dodard.

Those left to celebrate Deacon Fritz's life are his loving wife, Maisie Dodard; daughter, Karen Dodard of New Jersey and son, Freddie Dodard of New Jersey, by his first wife Maria, who preceded him in death; stepsons, Kamil (Amie) Walker and Weston (Jean) Walker; granddaughters, Zakiyyah Dodard and Deja Dodard; nephews, Edwin (Angela) Dodard of Georgia and Garry (Tequila) Dodard of Spain; nieces, Jessie Dodard of New Jersey and Lynn Dodard of Florida; three sisters- in-law; three brothers- in-laws; two godsons; many more precious grandchildren; and host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends and church family, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by his departure, but rejoice...for now he is resting with the Lord.

"In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there toprepare a place for you."
