Mr. Robert Tabor, age 85, of Murfreesboro made his transition from this earthly life to eternal life on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the VA Hospital.

Robert H. Tabor was born May 26, 1924 in Nashville, TN and passed away December 11, 2012. He completed his education in the Nashville Public school system. He served 3 years of distinction for his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to 1946. He served in WWII as a Staff Sergeant and the Military Police and along with an Honorable Discharge he was awarded the WWII Victory ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and the AP Theater Ribbon. After the military he joined the Chicago Police Department and retired after serving 30 years. Wherever he was, everyone loved him for his wit and warmth, his ability to connect history with current events, and to give good advice. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. Robert lived a life fueled by his passion for his faith, his deep love for his family and his care for his friends.

Preceded in death by his mother Viola Adams, sister Lula Sellers, and brother James Tabor.
