Obituary:
Forrestine E. Gregory was born to the late Joseph N. and Lilly B. Gregory. Lilly passed away at an early age, leaving Forrestine to be raised by her maternal grandmother, Effie Smith.

She received her education in the Rutherford County School System.

Forrestine was a member of Elders Chapel Methodist Church.

She retired from Cambridge Nursing Home as a CNT after 30 years, where she not only took care of many, many patients, but their families as well. She was awarded a plaque with her picture on it, officially naming March 29 Forrestine Gregory Day, and as of today it still hangs in the lobby at Cambridge Nursing Home. She later became a patient and the staff took very good care of her, given her, the same love attention she had given for thirty years.

Mother was well known for cooking and feeding any and everyone. She will never be forgotten because of her love and generosity for feeding people. She will best be known for her famous pound cake, of which, many have tried to duplicate, but never quite made it. She will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Joseph N. Gregory, Jr. and Ronnie Smith.

Forrestine leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her home going nine children, Dwight (Diane) Gregory, Victoria E. Blue, Denise (Larry) Hill, Toni (Richard) Gregory, Cynthia M. (Al) Frazier, Guy Malazzo, Vanessa M. (Davy) Lutton, Robert (Laureen) Malazzo, Jason (Jennifer) Malazzo and Garth Malazzo; adopted daughter, Mathilda Woodson; twelve grandchildren, Shonefornette McGee, Terrence Blair, Coticcio Blue, Mario Gregory, Monolette Green, Shirrita Blue, Tennisha Puckett, Angela Blue, Marco Green, Mary Adams, Shea Yearbrough and Garry Yearbrough; sixteen great grandchildren; aunt, Helen Vaughn of Smyrna, Tennessee; nephew, Napoleon J. Gregory of Chicago, Illinois; devoted friends and caregivers, William Peebles, Frank Neal, Jr. and James Smith.

Mother we will forever love you, but we know God loved you more. It is with joy, love, and understanding that we celebrate your home going and give praise to God as you return to be with him, the one who gave you to us for just a little while.
