Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2011 Greenwood Obituary: Bestedia Carroll "B.C." Witherspoon-Harris was born March 18, 1951 to the late Elder William J.Harris Sr. and Ada Mae Witherspoon Harris. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, William J. Harris Jr. He passed unexpectedly on April 10, 2011.
"B.C." graduated from Cumberland High School in the Class of 1970. He attended Tennessee State University for 4 years. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. "B.C." loved to attend church, He was baptized at a very young age at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Nashville TN. At the time of his death, he was attending Schrader Lane Church of Christ in Nashville, TN.
"B.C." loved to watch his sports, especially golf and tennis. He worked at the Main Prison as a Guard, later working at the Veterans Hospital, until he became disabled. He will be sadly missed.
Bestedia is survived by his loving sister,Jeanette (Robert Sr.) Harris- Johnson of Nashville; adopted sister, Brenda (Harry Sr.) Ingle of Nashville; sister-in-law, Carol D. Harris, of Nashville,TN; nephews, William (Zina) C. Harris-Johnson, Immanuel Harris, Robert Johnson, Jr., Quinton Johnson, Harry Ingle, Jr., William Harris, III, and Kyle Harris; Uncles, James Witherspoon of Nashville, Benjamin (Nette)Witherspoon of Chattanooga, great aunt, Essie Wright (Nashville), devoted cousin, Phillip (SamEthel) Wright; great nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
